LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The nationally ranked University of Louisville men's and women's outdoor track and field teams will compete this weekend (April 2-4) at both the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, and Mike Poehlein Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind.
U of L will have 46 athletes competing at both unscored meets this weekend which feature schools from the ACC, BIG EAST, BIG TEN, Pac-10 and SEC. The prestigious 82nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, hosted by Texas, has 20 Cardinal athletes entered and is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, and will continue on Friday and Saturday. The Cards will have 26 athletes competing at Purdue's Mike Poehlein Invitational commencing on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. ET.
"We are really excited about competing in the Texas Relays because it has always been a great opportunity for us and gives us great exposure in one of our top recruiting states," said U of L head coach Ron Mann. "We have now added the Mike Poehlein Invitational to make up for our missed opportunity last weekend at Georgia Tech due to severe weather conditions. We completely understand their decision to keep the athletes safety first, but we have to get the marks in."
Louisville earned two NCAA Mideast Regional qualifying marks and won an event title last weekend at the Raleigh Relays and rain-shortened Yellow Jacket Invite.
Junior Tarah McKay, who was the only Cardinal woman to compete at the Raleigh Relays, finished 10th in the 5,000-meter run with an NCAA Regional qualifying time of 16:47.29, the second fastest time in school history.
At the Yellow Jacket Invite, junior Lindsey Cook finished fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 180-08 (54.91m), reaching NCAA Mideast Regional qualifying status for the second straight week.

"I feel really good of where we are at and both meets are something we're really looking forward to," said Mann.
The Cards will return to action on April 8-11 at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn.
