RALEIGH, N.C. - Four members of the University of Louisville men's track and field team competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on the final day of the Reebok Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State on Saturday.
The cardinal men were led by sophomore Matt Hughes. The Oshawa, Ont. native took the section one title of the 3,000-meter steeplechase with an NCAA Mideast Regional qualifying and personal best time of 8:50.83, the second fastest in school history.
In section two of the event, graduate senior Grant Allen finished second with a time of 9:24.25, while freshman Gordon Dooley and junior Scott McClain placed third and fourth with times of 9:27.59 and 9:27.76, respectively.
The Cards will return to action on April 2-4 at the 82nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
