The University of Louisville women's tennis team defeated the North Texas Mean Green 6-1 Saturday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. The win is the fourth of the season for the Cardinals at home and their second consecutive win.
"Today we beat a very dangerous team. As a team, our confidence is coming back," UofL head coach Mark Beckham said. "We lost quite a few 4-3 matches, even though they were close they cannot help but to have affected our confidence."
The Cardinals won two out of their three doubles matches. They then took all their single matches after Lindsey Jones loss a close one in the match-up of ones against Irina Paraschiv 4-6, 6-4, 1-0(8).
"Now we have beaten two quality teams in a row. I would think our progress as a team will increase really fast," said Beckham.
