
Rolfe and Edginton Earn All-American Honors

Louisville, Ky. - Sophomore forward Colin Rolfe and senior defender Phil Edginton earned NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-American honors for the 2009 season. Louisville is one of six teams with multiple selections.
Rolfe becomes the first Cardinal to earn first team All-American honors. Rolfe was a semifinalist for the prestigious Hermann Trophy Award after his stellar sophomore campaign. Rolfe finished the year leading the team in scoring with 10 goals and two assists for 22 points. The sophomore also led the team with four game-winning goals. He was a unanimous first team All-BIG EAST selection. He was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals in the Cards' 4-0 win over Indiana. He was also named to the Soccer America Team of the Week. He was recently named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Year.
Edginton earned second team honors after helping the Cardinals to one of their most successful season in school history. Edginton was named BIG EAST Co-Defensive Player of the Year. He was also a unanimous selection to the 2009 All-BIG EAST First Team. Edginton and the Cardinal defense have posted 13 shutouts through 20 games and allowed only 12 goals. Offensively, Edginton has six points on two goals and two assists. Named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week three times (Sept. 21, Oct. 12 & Oct. 26), Edginton was also a two-time weekly honor roll selection (Sept. 14 & Oct. 5). He was recently named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Year.
The NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-America selections will be recognized at the annual All-America Luncheon, held in Philadelphia, Pa., on Jan. 16 as part of the 2010 NSCAA Convention.
