
Women's Basketball Hosts Home Opener Against Tennessee Tech

Louisville, Ky. - The Louisville women's basketball team will host Tennessee Tech in its home opener on Sunday, Nov. 22 in Freedom Hall at 4:30 p.m. The No. 19/23 Cardinals (1-1) are hoping to bounce back after falling at Harford 62-50 on Tuesday night.
Louisville is led in scoring and rebounding by Louisville native Monique Reid. Reid is averaging 12.5 points and 10 rebounds per game. Sophomore Becky Burke is second on the team in scoring with 11.0 points per game while shooting 40 percent from behind the arc.
Tennessee Tech is coming off a 100-55 loss to No. 4/8 Baylor on Tuesday night. Sophomore guard and Kentucky native Tacarra Hayes leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 16.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Kellie Cook is second on the team in scoring with 13.3 points while Kylie Cook is third in scoring with 12.0 points per game.
Louisville leads the overall series with the Golden Eagles 2-1. The Cardinals are 1-0 against Tennessee Tech at home. Last season Louisville defeated Tennessee Tech 82-49 in Cookeville on Nov. 15, 2008.
