Ft. Collins, Colo. - The Louisville women's golf team will open the 2008-09 season this week at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic. The Cardinals will begin play on Monday, Sept. 8 and play two rounds through the evening.
The Cardinals will have a new look in the lineup this season. Two newcomers will make their debut for the Cardinals in the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic. Junior Daphne Parker will play at No. 4 for the Cardinals. Parker transferred to Louisville after playing two seasons at BYU. Freshman Maria Castellanos will make her debut. Castellanos will be the only freshman in the lineup.
Some familiar faces will be at the top of the lineup for the Cardinals this season. After qualifying last week, sophomore Sara-Maude Juneau will play the top spot for the Cardinals this week. Senior Cindy LaCrosse will play in the No. 2 slot while sophomore Laura Anderson will play at No. 3.
Louisville starts the season with arguably its most talented lineup. Senior Cindy LaCrosse was recently recognized by Golfweek as the best of the rest players to watch this season. The Cards return three All-BIG EAST selections to the lineup along with a talented group of newcomers.
