Louisville Softball Fall Invitational This Weekend

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - The University of Louisville softball team will host the 2008 Louisville Fall Invitational Sept. 27-28 at Ulmer Stadium. Other teams in the tournament include Morehead State, Western Kentucky and Anderson University.
The Cardinals will take on Western Kentucky on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 12 p.m. and Anderson University at 4 p.m. On Sunday, Louisville will play Anderson at 12 p.m. and Morehead State at 2 p.m.
U of L finished the 2008 season with a 31-23 overall record - including a 12-8 BIG EAST Conference record. The youthful Cardinals, a team which fielded only three upperclassmen in the starting lineup, earned the program's fifth consecutive NCAA regional bid and were sent to the Knoxville as the No. 3 seed.
The Cards return seven starters and 11 letterwinners from last year's team including All-BIG EAST selections Melissa Roth, Kassie Stanfill, Kristen Wadwell and Colby Wherry.
