
McCoughtry Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville senior Angel McCoughtry was named BIG EAST Player of the Week for the second time this season. McCoughtry registered her second career triple-double against Hartford and led all scorers with 31 points against Kentucky on Sunday afternoon to earn BIG EAST accolades.
McCoughtry averaged 24.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and eight steals per game in Louisville's home wins over Hartford 70-42 on Dec. 10 and Kentucky 75-59 on Dec. 14. The senior forward recorded her second triple-double of her career with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steals in 26 minutes played in the Hartford win.
The triple-double is the second point-rebound-steal effort in BIG EAST history, and the 14th overall. In the Cards' win over instate rival Kentucky, McCoughtry finished with 31 points, nine rebounds and six steals, while connecting on 12-of-24 from the field. For the week she shot 43.2 percent from the field (19-of-44) and made 8-of-11 free throws. McCoughtry also earned Player of the Week honors on Nov. 24.
