Louisville, Ky. - Candace Wiley and Morgan McClure have signed national letters of intent to play golf for the Louisville Cardinals next season. Wiley is a senior at Shelby County High School and McClure is from senior at Catalina Foothills High School in Tuscson, Ariz.
Wiley won the KHSAA State Championship her freshman year at Shelby County. She has won three tournaments in her senior year. She also captured the Region V Championship. She finished tied for sixth in the KHSAA State Championship this year.
"We are excited to add another local player to our roster next year," said head coach Kelly Rothberg. "She has elevated her game every year and I feel like her best golf is ahead of her. She understands the strides we have taken here and wants to help this program continue to rise."
Morgan finished seventh in the Arizona 4A Tournament this season. She was named the "One to Watch" her junior year by the Arizona Daily Star. She helped guide her team to the 4A State Championship her sophomore season and finished the year ranked as the top player in Southern Arizona.
"Morgan is a tremendous find for us," said Rothberg. "She is the first West Coast player at Louisville and we are looking forward to her joining the team. She is a great student-athlete and will be a leader both on and off the course."
