
Four Field Hockey Players Earn All-West Region Honors

Four University of Louisville field hockey players earned Longstreth/NFHCA All-West Region team. Lauren Schaefer and Nicole Youman were named to the first team while Heather Bustanoby and Tuli Lim were selected to the second team.
Schaefer a senior defender from Millersville, Pa. is a two-time All-BIG EAST selection. The team captain collected has 14 points (5G, 4A) on the season and was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 3. She will compete in the 2008 NFHCA Division I Senior All-Star game on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Trager Stadium.
Youman, a sophomore midfielder from Black Mountain, New South Wales, Australia led the team with 27 points (8G, 11A). The team-vice captain is a two-time All-West-Region and All-BIG EAST selection.
Lim, a sophomore midfielder from Chapel Hill, N.C., is a two-year starter and lede the team with 11 goals. The All-BIG EAST second team selection finished second on the team with 24 points.
Bustanoby a junior goalkeeper from Virginia Beach, Va., posted a 14-7 record in the cage with four shutouts and a 1.60 goals-against average. She was a second team All-BIG EAST Conference selection.
The Cardinals finished the 2008 season with a 14-7 overall record, including a 5-1 mark in the BIG EAST Conference en route to earning a share of their third straight regular season title. U of L spent the entire season in the NFHCA top 20, reaching as high as No. 11 and earning their second trip to the NCAA tournament.
