LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville (6-7) will travel to intra-state rival Kentucky (11-4) Wednesday, March 7 at 5:30 for a single game.
About Louisville
Louisville (6-7) is led senior third baseman Audrey Rendon who is batting .326 with 15 hits and is a perfect 3 for 3 in stolen bases. Freshman catcher Melissa Roth follows with a .314 batting average, five runs and four RBI. Senior pitcher Catherine Bishop (3-5) carries a 2.20 ERA with 57 strikeouts in 47.2 innings. Sophomore Kassie Stanfill (3-2) has a 2.23 ERA and is holding opponents to a .207 batting average in 31.1 innings of work.
Last up for the Cards
The Cardinals are coming off of a 2-0 showing in the Red & Black Cardinal Tournament defeating Bradley 1-0 and Akron 7-4. The final games of the tournament were canceled due to extremely cold weather conditions. The Cardinals will face intra-state rival Kentucky Wednesday before traveling to play in the Maryland Softball Invitational.
Senior third baseman Audrey Rendon led the team offensively on the weekend, batting .571 (4 for 7) with a run, two RBI and a stolen base. She went 3 for 4 in the 7-4 win over Akron. Senior RHP Catherine Bishop did not allow a run and struck out 15 in 9.1 innings pitched over the weekend. She held opponents to two hits (.069 batting average) and matched her career high 12 strikeouts while getting the complete game win in the 1-0 decision against Bradley. Bishop posted her second save of the season in the 7-4 win over Akron, holding the Zips to one hit and striking out three in 2.1 innings.
Cardinals vs. Kentucky

Series record: UK leads 11-6
Last meeting: April 26, 2006 - U of L won 4-1 in Lexington. In the other 2006 matchup, the Cats defeated Louisville 3-1 at Ulmer Stadium.
Scouting Kentucky: The Wildcats (11-4) are coming off of a 12-5 win over IUPUI. Prior to that the fell 12-11 Evansville in the Frostbite Classic in Lexington. Two of Kentucky's losses have come at the hands of No. 18 Baylor in the Baylor Tournament.
UK is batting a hefty .378 as a team. Senior Katie Campbell leads the team with a .523 batting average with eight doubles, five home runs and 17 RBI. Freshman Molly Johnson is hitting .511 with 18 RBI. Senior Brooke Marnitz carries a .458 batting average with eight home runs and 32 RBI. Freshman Jennifer Young (6-3) has a 3.03 ERA in 37.0 innings pitched.
On Deck
After the Kentucky game, the Cards will go on to College Park, Md. for the Maryland Softball Invitational. U of L will face Princeton in the opening game Friday, March 9 at 2 p.m. and will face host Maryland at 6 p.m. On Saturday, the Cardinals will play Rhode Island at 11 a.m. and Central Connecticut at 3 p.m.
