Amelia Harris, of Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand, has signed a National-Letter-of-Intent to continue her tennis career at the University of Louisville according to Cardinal head coach Mark Beckham.
Harris has represented her country in international competition and is currently the No. 12-ranked woman in New Zealand. While playing for New Zealand's U18 National team, she was a semi-finalist in both singles and doubles. In 2006, she was a member of New Zealand's Junior Federation Cup Team and national U16 winner in both singles and doubles.
"I am very excited to have Amelia as a part of our team. She is very talented and has a lot of experience at the international level," said Beckham. "She will help Louisville women's tennis win a lot of matches and I think she is going to be an excellent college player. She is going to be a big part of the future success of Cardinal tennis."
