- The 57-yard touchdown reception by sophomore Mario Urrutia was the Cardinals' longest pass reception this season. It also marked the fifth touchdown reception of his career of 50 or more yards.
- True freshman Deantwan Whitehead made his first career start at defensive end.
- Senior offensive guard Kurt Quarterman scored on a one-yard run in the second quarter -- the fourth rushing TD of his career.
- Sophomore running back George Stripling recorded his third multiple touchdown game of his career and the first three touchdown game of his career. Stripling has 11 career rushing scores in just 14 career games.
- Senior cornerback William Gay recorded his second career interception in the second quarter.
- The 42 first-half points were the most the Cardinals scored in a half since scoring 42 points in a 70-7 win over Cincinnati on November 27, 2004.
- Junior quarterback Brian Brohm threw for 307 yards and one touchdown in the win. It was his first 300-yard game this season and the sixth of his career.
- Sophomore running back Sergio Spencer recorded the first two rushing touchdowns of his career.
- Freshman JaJuan Spillman and sophomore Corey Thompson each recorded their first career receptions in the third quarter.
- Head coach Bobby Petrino is 10-1 in the month of September and 13-3 against non-conference opponents.
- The Cardinals scored 50-plus points for the 12th time in the 39 games under Petrino.
- Louisville's 671yards in total offense was the second highest under Petrino (highest: school record 779 vs. Houston, 2003). It was the fifth-highest mark in U of L history.
- Today's shutout was the third under Petrino and the Cardinals' first since a 34-0 win at North Carolina on September 24, 2004.
- CB Rod Council suffered a broken ankle in the first quarter and will have surgery on Monday. He's out for 4-6 weeks.
- Temple's 230 yards in total offense was the lowest for a U of L opponent since Rutgers gained 187 against the Cardinals last season (11/11/06).
