
Softball Set for Fall Season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville softball team has announced its 2006-07 fall schedule. The Cards will play host to Evansville, Morehead State and Western Kentucky in the Louisville Fall Softball Invitation on Sept 23 at Ulmer Stadium. The Cards will travel to Oxford, Ohio to play Miami University on Sept. 30 to close out the fall season.
U of L finished the 2006 season with a program-best 45-11 record. Louisville won the BIG EAST regular season title and earned its third consecutive NCAA tournament at-large bid. After appearing the national rankings for the first time in school history, the Cardinals closed the year ranked No. 19 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 poll and No. 18 in the USA Today/NFCA softball poll. The Cards return 10 letterwinners and six starters from last year's team including 2006 BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year Catherine Bishop and fellow all-BIG EAST selections Audrey Rendon and Courtney Moore.
