
Softball's Catherine Bishop Earns Academic Honors

University of Louisville pitcher Catherine Bishop been named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Softball first team. She is eligible for Academic All-America team consideration.
Bishop, a junior biology major from Adelaide, Australia, was named 2006 BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year and earned first team all conference honors. She is ranked fourth in the nation with 27 wins and is tenth in the nation with a 0.87 ERA. Bishop was named BIG EAST pitcher of the week four times, including the final three weeks of the season.
To be nominated, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore starter or significant reserve and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. Team members are selected by a vote of the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) within the district.
