
Softball travels to Eastern Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - The University of Louisville softball team will travel to Richmond, Ky., to play Eastern Kentucky Wednesday, March 29 in a single game at 3 p.m.
The Cardinals (19-4) are led offensively by senior catcher Lacy Wood's .397 batting average with three home runs, nine doubles and 18 RBI. Junior shortstop Courtney Moore close behind, batting .368 with three home runs, nine doubles and 17 RBI.
Junior RHP Catherine Bishop (11-2) leads the Cards in the circle with a 0.72 ERA, 82 strikeouts in 87 innings and is holding opponents to a .126 batting average.
EKU enters the game with a 17-12 overall record and 5-2 in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Colonels are coming off of 1-2 showing in a three game series with Ohio Valley opponent Tennessee Tech. Eastern won the first game 1-0, but Tennessee Tech swept a double header 3-2 and 8-3 on Sunday.
The Colonels are led by Alex Merrell's .323 batting average. Chanze Patterson follows hitting .320 with a team-leading .23 runs and 15 stolen bases. Kelsey Anderson has 25 RBI. EKU is led in the circle by Anderson's 10-5 record, 1.89 ERA with 102 strikeouts in 96.1 innings pitched.
