Sunday's Softball Games at NFCA Leadoff Classic Cancelled

COLUMBUS, Ga. - Sunday's softball games at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's Leadoff Classic have been cancelled. Saturday's heavy rains in the Columbus, Ga., area not only forced the cancellation of Saturday's games, but also resulted in the canceling of Sunday's action at the 2006 NFCA Leadoff Classic. The city experienced two and a quarter inches of rain Saturday, making the playing surfaces at the South Commons Complex unplayable.
U of L (9-1) will play its home opener March 4 at 1 p.m. against Wright State in the Red & Black Classic. They will follow that game with a matchup with Western Kentucky at 3 p.m. The Cardinals will face Akron March 5 at 1 p.m.
