- U of L won its 18th straight game at home, the longest winning streak in school history and the second longest in the nation (behind USC). U of L is 22-1 in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium under coach Bobby Petrino.
- Louisville won at least a share of its first BIG EAST Conference title in its second year in the league.
- Louisville finished the regular season with 11 victories, the third time in school history the Cardinals have won 11 games in a season (also in 2001, 2004).
- U of L's senior class has produced a four-year career record of 40-9, including an impressive 22-1 home mark in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
- WR Harry Douglas became the seventh U of L wide receiver to record 1,000 receiving yards in a season (1,100 total), and is the first since J.R. Russell had a school-record 1,213 yards in 2003. With five catches for a career-best 149 yards and two touchdowns, Douglas produced his third 100-yard receiving game this season. The BIG EAST Conference leader in receptions and receiving yards per game, has caught at least five passes in seven games this season. Douglas and WR Mario Urrutia and have each caught a pass in 14 straight games.
- With two field goals today, junior placekicker Art Carmody broke the U of L career record for field goals with 46, breaking the old mark of 44 set by Nate Smith (2000-2003). A finalist for the Groza Award, Carmody improved to 20-of-23 on field goals this season. He has connected on 34 of his last 37 field goal attempts and is 46-of-54 for his career.
- Louisville produced 570 total yards today, the third time it has gained at least 500 yards and the 24th time in the last four years under Coach Bobby Petrino. The Cardinals entered the game second nationally in total offense.
- Junior quarterback Brian Brohm tossed his 41st career touchdown pass to move past his brother Jeff and Stefan LeFors for fourth in career passing TDs at U of L. Brohm completed 20-of-28 passes for 341 yards and four TDs today, his 10th career game with over 300 passing yards. Today's game was Brohm's fifth of his career with three or more touchdowns. He has thrown 10 touchdown passes in the last three games. Brohm also rushed for a career-best 57 yards on eight carries. His previous high was 37 yards in three rushing attempts against Miami (Fla.) on Oct. 14, 2004.
- The Cardinals' defense held Connecticut to 236 yards, U of L's second-best effort of the year and sixth time the Cards have held a team under 300 yards this year. The Bulls converted just 2-of-11 third down coversions.
- Louisville, which entered the game leading the nation in sacks, registered one sack today to increase its total to 40. The Cardinals had 44 sacks last season when Elvis Dumervil recorded a nation's best 20 sacks.
- OG Kurt Quarterman started his 36th straight game at offensive guard.
- The crowd of 38,476 brought the Cardinals' season total for six games to 248,891, a record average attendance of 41,481 for the season. All six U of L games were sold out.
