
Javelet Earns All-America Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- - University of Louisville senior midfielder Jessica Javelet was named 2006 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I All-America second team. She becomes Louisville's first three-time field hockey All-American.
Javelet, the 2006 BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year and 2005 league co-offensive player of the year, led the team with 18 goals and 46 points. This season, she was named Offensive Player of the Week twice and Defensive Player of the Week once. Javelet was a first team All-American in 2005 and was named to the third team in 2004. The three-time all-conference selection owns Louisville's career records for goals (69), assists (38) and points (176). She also holds three single-season records: goals (30), assists (14), points (74) and two single-game records- goals (5) and points (12).
U of L finished the 2006 season with a 12-8 record and a No. 15 ranking in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll. The Cards also notched a share of the BIG EAST regular season championship with a 5-1 record in league play.
