PROVIDENCE, R.I. - - University of Louisville field hockey midfielder Jessica Javelet was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while defender Andrea Roussel was named league Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 8.
Javelet, a senior from Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., helped Louisville to a 2-1 record on the week, scoring four goals and adding one assist for nine points. Javelet notched her sixth career hat trick in the 4-1 win over No. 12 Providence Sunday. Javelet's assist in the 2-0 win over No. 11 Indiana was her 35th career assist, tying the school's all-time record. She now holds every offensive single season and career record at U of L. Javelet also leads the team with 11 goals and 29 points and is second on the team with seven assists.

The Cardinals (8-5, 2-1 BIG EAST) will play host their fifth consecutive top 20 opponent when No. 7 Ohio State (9-2) pays a visit to Trager Stadium Wednesday at 3 p.m.
