The No. 75-ranked University of Louisville women's tennis team dropped its final regular season match, falling 5-2 to Conference USA opponent DePaul Saturday afternoon at Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. The Cardinals, who were 17-1 at home entering the match, post a 20-8 record.
U of L dropped the doubles point despite a win by Kelly Taylor and Natalie Laszkowski at No. 2. The pair rolled 8-4 over Gergana Ganeva and Petra Rehusova. However, the short-handed Cardinals had to default the No. 3 doubles and the No. 1 pair of Suzanna Gracanin and Robyn White fell 8-4.
In singles, Taylor and Laszkowski won their singles matches. Taylor, playing in her final regular season match as a Cardinal pulled out a three set match, wearing down Ganeva 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. Laszkowski handled Rehusova 6-3, 6-3.
The Cardinals now await their seeding for the Conference USA Tournament April 21-24 at Ft. Worth when TCU hosts the final C-USA competition for the Cardinals.
