The University of Louisville's Aja Sherman has been named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week for the period ending April 10. This marks the third consecutive week and fourth time this season Sherman has earned the league's weekly honor.
Sherman, a senior from Las Vegas, Nev., did not allow an earned run in three appearances to extend her scoreless inning streak to 33 overall. Sherman tossed two shutouts in a series sweep of Charlotte and added eight scoreless innings in a 1-0 nine-inning victory over Indiana. She fanned 14 Hoosiers, just one off her career high, and finished the week with 29 strikeouts.
The Cardinals (26-12, 11-1 C-USA) stand tied for first in league standings with DePaul (21-11, 11-1). U of L will travel to Eastern Kentucky for a single game on April 13 at 4:00 p.m. The Cardinals will then play Kentucky in Lexington on April 14 in a 4:00 p.m. single game.
