LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's track and field team will compete at the NCAA Indoor Qualifier on Friday hosted by DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. The meet, which is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. ET, will serve as the final opportunity for the Cardinal athletes to achieve a qualifying mark for next week's NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.
"We're planning to have most of our squad at DePauw and get another competition under out belts," said U of L head coach Ron Mann. "It'll be the last chance for us to compete and earn an NCAA mark, but it's also another good opportunity to improve in a competitive environment."
The Cards enter this week's meet following last week's Conference USA Indoor Championships in Houston, Texas. Leading the way for U of L was senior Jacey Hughes, who won the pole vault title and matched her own school record with a mark of 12 feet, 11.50 inches. Junior Jennifer Hartig finished third in the pole vault with a career-best mark of 12-05.50, while senior Kelley Bowman earned fifth in the high jump with a mark of 5-08.50. Overall, the Cards finished 11th with 25 points.
A complete recap of the Cardinal results at the NCAA Indoor Qualifier will be available here at www.UofLSports.com following the completion of the meet on Friday night.
