
Softball Set for Courtyard Marriott Red & Black Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- - The University of Louisville softball team plays home for the first time in 2005 as they host the Courtyard Marriott Red & Black Classic Feb. 25-27 at Ulmer Stadium. The Cards will open the tournament against Ball State (1-3) at 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, followed by a 3:30 p.m. matchup against No. 24 Missouri (8-1). Louisville will face Iowa (5-1) on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. and Minnesota (7-4) on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
The Cards enter the tournament with a record of 8-5 and are currently on a four-game winning streak. Sophomore shortstop Courtney Moore is leading the team with an impressive .475 batting average and 10 RBI. In the bullpen, the pitching staff has a dominating ERA of 1.35, and is holding opponents to a .170 batting average. Sophomore Catherine Bishop (5-1) leads the Cards with a remarkable 0.89 ERA.
Admission to all softball games is free. Live scoring will be available for all Louisville softball games at Ulmer Stadium.
