
Javelet Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - - University of Louisville midfielder Jessica Javelet was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 31. This marks the third time Javelet has earned the league honor.
The junior from Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., scored three goals on the weekend, including the deciding goal in Louisville's 3-2 overtime win over No. 11 Michigan. Javelet also notched two goals and an assist in the Cards' 5-2 win over No. 10 Iowa on Saturday. With her assist in the Iowa game, Javelet owns the school's single season assist record with 14. She is also the nation's leading scorer with 30 goals and 74 points.
The Cardinals (14-6, 3-2 BIG EAST) will travel to Piscataway, N.J., for the BIG EAST tournament where they will face No. 12 Connecticut Friday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. The winners of the semifinal match ups will play at noon Sunday, Nov. 6. The championship game will be nationally televised by ESPNU and aired at 5:00 p.m. the same day.
