
Field Hockey Earns No. 3 Seed in BIG EAST Tournament

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - - The University of Louisville field hockey team will be a No. 3 seed and play No. 2 seeded Connecticut at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4 at the Stadium Complex on the campus of Rutgers University.
U of L will have an opportunity to avenge a regular season loss in which the Cards took an early 1-0 lead, but the Huskies scored three unanswered goals for a 3-1 win.
Villanova (4-1 BIG EAST) clinched the top seed and at least a share of the BIG EAST regular season title. Both accomplishments are firsts for head coach Joanie Q. Milhous and the VU field hockey program.
Connecticut (3-1) is awarded the No. 2 seed, Louisville No. 3 and Syracuse No. 4 in the single-elimination tournament. The top four of the league's six teams based on conference record are awarded a berth to the Championship.
The semifinals will begin with Villanova taking on Syracuse at 5:00 p.m. ET Nov. 4.
The winners of the semifinal match ups will play at noon Sunday, Nov. 6. The championship game will be nationally televised by ESPNU and aired at 5:00 p.m. the same day.
