PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Junior forward Jamie Craft scored a pair of goals, as the University of Louisville women's soccer team improved to 3-1-0 in the BIG EAST with a 3-0 blanking of Providence on the road Friday evening.
With the goals, Craft moves into second all-time in U of L history in goals (28) and total points (64), trailing Jennifer Coe who scored 40 goals and 87 points from 1985-88.
U of L (8-3-0, 3-1-0 BIG EAST) got on the board in the 35th minute when Jen Avila found Craft, who beat a defender to go 1 v 1 against the Friars keeper Ashley Fedyshyn, beating her for Craft's 5th goal of the season.
The Cardinal dominated the first half of play, outshooting the Friars (3-6-1, 0-3-1 BIG EAST) 7-1 in the first 45 minutes.
Just a minute and 59 seconds into the second half, Louisville added to the lead when sophomore Monique Gjini beat a Providence defender and ripped a laser into the upper left corner from 12 yards out for a 2-0 advantage.

Freshman keeper Deana Waintraub made four saves, including three in the second half for her sixth shutout of the season. The Friars continued to pressure the Cards, outshooting them 9-8 in the second half.
