
Women's Tennis Opens Season at Roberta Alison Tournament

The University of Louisville women's tennis team opened the 2004-05 season at the University of Alabama's Robert Alison Tournament.
A flighted tournament, the doubles team of Kelly Taylor and Natalie Laszkowski posting a pair of wins and finishing fifth to lead the Cardinals.
In Flight A, Leslie Stewart and Suzanna Gracinin won in the first round over the pair from Auburn but then lost to Mississippi State and Tennessee Tech. Taylor and Laszkowski dropped their first round match to Mississippi State but then won the consolation bracket with a pair of wins over Georgia State and Auburn.
Newcomer Suzanna Gracinin posted a win over Tennessee Tech's Katja Kovacic in the first round of the singles flight, which continue Saturday and Sunday. Stewart fell to Ana Rupric from South Alabama 6-2, 6-2 in Flight A. In Flight B, Taylor fell to Alabama's Ashley Bentley 6-1, 6-0. Robyn White, Laszkowski and Arianna Marshall all fell in their first round matchups.
