
Irwin Named MAC Field Hockey Player of the Week

University of Louisville field hockey player Suzanne Irwin was named Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 19.
The senior forward from Louisville, Ky. (Ballard HS), tallied three goals and accounted for all of the Cardinals' scoring on the weekend. She posted U of L's lone goal to send the game into overtime in the Cards' 2-1 loss to No. 17 Indiana on Saturday and her two goals gave Louisville a 2-1 win over William & Mary on Sunday. Irwin currently leads the team with five goals and 10 points and has registered at least one goal in each of the past four games.
The Cardinals (2-5) will open MAC play on Friday, Sept. 24 at Ball State.
