LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's tennis team has announced its schedule for the 2004-2005 athletic year. The Cardinals will compete in three invitational tournaments and will host sixteen home matches at the award-winning Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
The schedule features a mix of traditional rivals, regional powers and four Conference USA foes as the Cardinals pursue their goal of acquiring the Conference USA crown. The Cardinals will be led by returnee Kelly Taylor who posted a 22-11 record in singles.
"We are looking forward to our 2004-2005 schedule. I feel the fall tournaments at Alabama, Kentucky, and Northwestern are going to go a long way in preparing the team for a very challenging schedule," said head coach Greg Davis, whose team just posted second straight 20-win season. Davis continues, "Every year I want to make our schedule more difficult in order to challenge the team. Playing a schedule with the likes of Kentucky, Marshall, N.C. State, New Mexico, Missouri, Ohio State, South Alabama, and VCU will go a long way in preparing the team for the Conference Championships in April."
