
Women's Golf Finishes Fourth at Conference USA Championships

Fort Worth, Texas - University of Louisville women's golf team held on to finish fourth at the Conference USA Championships, despite playing without its No. 2 player. The Cardinals finished the day shooting a 321 and finished just six strokes out of third with a score of 976. Tulane won the championship with a score of 941. TCU finished second with a 956 and South Florida was third with a 970.
Sophomore Elly Leonard finished tied for fifth with a score of 235. Tulane's Liliana Alvarez won the championship with a score of 226. Junior Meghan Little moved up 13 spots to finish 10th after shooting a 73 in the final round. Little finished with a score of 240.
Freshman Cristina Gonzalez put in her best performance of the season and finished tied for 16th with a score of 247. Senior Ali Wright finished tied for 27th with a score of 254.
Leonard earned Conference USA All-Tournament honors for her fifth place finish. Leonard was also named third team All-Conference USA. Freshman Katie Tewell, who did not compete due to injury, was also named to the third team and the Conference USA All-Freshman team. Little was named second team All-Conference USA.
