INDIANAPOLIS - Freshmen Emily Kost and Katie Wilson combined for four top-10 finishes in four events to lead the University of Louisville women's track and field team at the Butler Twilight meet over the weekend in Indianapolis.

Kost finished fourth in the discus (40.85 meters), sixth in the shot put (12.33m) and ninth in the hammer throw (43.74m).

Wilson had a season-best throw of 40.67m in the javelin to place second, her third top-three finish this spring. Wilson's mark was less than one meter from qualifying for the NCAA Mid-East Regionals.

In the long jump, junior Kelly Faber finished fifth with a personal-best leap of 18 feet, 3 inches, more than a foot better than her previous best. Senior Brittany Hedgepeth placed eighth at 18-1.75.

Junior Emily Daunhauer set a personal record in the 5000-meter run with a time of 17:52.51, finishing 12th. Her time was 24 seconds better than her previous best.

Junior Mindy Helman and freshman Kelley Bowman tied for sixth in the high jump after clearing 1.60 meters.

In the pole vault, senior Cindy Roberson finished fifth with a height of 11-6, while sophomore Jacey Hughes was seventh at 11-0.

The Cards return to action Sunday when they travel to Bloomington for the Billy Hayes Invitational.
