The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 4-2 to the No. 46-ranked University of Missouri team at Columbia.
The Cardinals got wins from No. 5 and 6 in singles but did not play doubles as Missouri had already clinched with wins from No. 1-4.
"We played a very tough match against a team that will be in the NCAA this year," said Greg Davis, U of L head coach. "I couldn't have asked for a better effort to be without Melisa San Martin who had to go home for a family emergency and for the kids to be in this match with a tough team like Missouri was a great effort."
Louisville notched their two wins when Mariana Torres outlasted Kristina Olshanskaya who had to default. Paige Eber beat Brittany Holliday 6-4, 6-2. Freshman Marie Louise Frolich Hansen gave the No. 26 ranked Urska Juric all she could handle before falling 6-4, 7-5.
