The University of Louisville women's tennis team beat Stetson University 4-2 in a match that was spread over two days due to inclimate weather. After U of L clinched the singles, the teams did not play for the doubles point. The Cardinals, on their Spring Break Trip, improved their record to 13-5.
The Cardinals were led by No. 1 singles player Marie Louise Frolich-Hansen who won easily over Mili Milovanovic 6-2, 6-2.
"We had a great performance from Frolich-Hansen," said first year head coach Greg Davis of his freshman.
Sophomore Kelly Taylor, U of L's No. 2 singles player, edged Beth Hayden 7-6 (4) in the first set and then rolled 6-2 in the second for the win. The Cardinals got their other two wins from veteran players senior Julie Penn and junior Paige Eber who won their matches at No. 4 and 5 respectively.
"We had a great win over a very scrappy Stetson team," said first year coach Greg Davis. "Julie did a great job at No. 4 and Paige was playing very well at No. 5."
