
Field Hockey's Hershey Earns All-American Honors

University of Louisville field hockey goalkeeper Christy Hershey was named to the 2003 STX National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I All-American third team. This marks the second time in her career Hershey has earned All-American honors.
The senior from Palmyra, Pa., finished the season with a 1.20 goal-against average and an .821 save percentage. The 2003 Mid-American Conference Field Hockey Player of the Year also had five shutouts on the season and holds the school record with 24.5 career shutouts. She earned MAC Player of the Week honors twice this year.
Hershey was the Cardinals' first All-American as a sophomore in 2001. She is a three-time STX/NFHCA West Region selection and a three-time All-MAC team selection. She was also selected to play in the 2003 NFHCA Senior All-Star game.
U of L finished the 2003 season with a 13-10 (6-4 MAC) record after winning the MAC tournament and earning the program's first NCAA bid.
