
Hershey named MAC Defensive Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - - University of Louisville goalkeeper Christy Hershey was named Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 27.
Hershey, a senior from Palmyra, Pa., allowed one goal in three games and recorded back-to-back shutouts for a 0.33 goals-against average on the week. The lone goal she allowed came in the Cards' 1-0 loss to No. 20 California. She also posted eight saves for a .889 save percentage. Hershey currently has a 1.27 goals-against average and four shutouts on the season. She holds the school record with 24.5 career shutouts. This marks the second time this season Hershey has earned Mid-American Conference Player of the Week honors.
U of L (10-8, 5-3 MAC) will play host to MAC opponent Ohio University on Friday, Oct. 31 at Trager Stadium at 4:00 p.m. The Cardinals will close out the regular season against MAC foe Kent State on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Trager Stadium at 1:00 p.m.
