Field Hockey Falls to Central Michigan 1-0

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - - The University of Louisville field hockey team fell to host Central Michigan 1-0 Friday in a Mid-American Conference matchup.
The two teams battled to a scoreless tie until Central Michigan's Kim Ferris scored the only goal of the game on a rebound off of Louisville goalkeeper senior Christy Hershey at the 47:56 mark in the game.
Hershey posted eight saves for Louisville in the loss. Central Michigan's Danielle Frank collected six saves in the shutout. The Chippewas outshot the Cardinals, 13-10, but U of L held the advantage in penalty corners, 12-4, including two at the end of regulation that could have tied the match. CMU improves to 5-9 (3-3 MAC).
The Cardinals (7-7, 3-3) will travel to Muncie, Ind., Saturday, to face MAC opponent Ball State.
