Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's soccer team fell 2-0 to Radford in the home opener Friday night in Cardinal Park. The Cardinals fall to 1-2 on the season while Radford improves to 2-0.
The match was scoreless in the first half of play but senior Cameron Payne received a red card in the 36th minute and the Cardinals were forced to play a man down the rest of the way. The Cardinals had a chance to score off a Fernando Tolomelli penalty kick late in the first half but Radford keeper Marc Smith registered the save.
The Highlanders came out early in the second half and took advantage of the Cardinals. T.J. Rolfing scored in the 48th minute off a shot deflection to put Radford up 1-0. Then in the 64th minute Jonathan Hooker crossed a shot over to Rolfing for his second goal of the evening. The Cardinals could never get any closer.
