Women's Tennis Competes at Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team opened its fall season at the Roberta Alison Invitational in Tuscaloosa.
Ten teams participated in seven singles draws adn three doubles draws. U of L's newcomer Jasmin Singh had a fifth place finish in the E Singles Draw to lead the Cardinals. After losing in the first round to Ashley Bentley of Alabama 6-4. 6-0, Singh beat Evan Epps of Auburn in the consolation bracket but lost to Mississippi State's Justyna Switala.
Singh paired with Paige Eber in the B Doubles Draw but lost all three matches. Melisa San Martin and Kelly Taylor combined forces in the A Doubles Draw. They lost to Auburns Petra Bercik/CarolinaRamirez 8-1 and Missisippi States Magdi Rekasi/Marcelle Hirt 8-4. The pair also lost in the seventh place match to UAB's Natascha Immele/Femke DeBoer 8-4.
