Evansville, Ind. - In the first round of the Pro-rehab-Aces tournament, the University of Louisville men's soccer team battled No. 3 South Carolina to a scoreless tie. Louiville, playing in its first overtime match of the season, improves to 2-3-1 on the season.
In the 73rd minute of regulation Cardinal newcomer Fernando Tolomelli was ejected from the match after receiving his second yellow card of the day, giving South Carolina a one-man advantage for the remainder of the match. South Carolina was unable to capitalize on the advantage but did dominate on offense, outshooting the Cardinals 21-11.
The Cardinals will play Fresno State tomorrow at noon in the second round of the Pro-rehab-Aces tournament.
