The University of Louisville women's tennis team bowed out of the Conference USA Championship with a 5-2 loss to No. 4 seeded Houston in Ft. Worth.
The Cardinals finish their season at 6-19.
Freshman Kelly Taylor defeated Kailey Meisinger 6-2, 7-6 at No. 4 singles. The Cardinals won No. 6 singles by default for their other point.
"Congratulations to Kelly Taylor, she came through and won her match for us," said Meg Peavy, U of L head coach. "Julie Penn played a great match and the score doesn't reflect the magnitude of the two-hour match."
Penn lost to Analia Longoni 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. At No. 1 singles, Melisa San Martin battled in the second set to a 7-6 loss after dropping the first 6-1.
