Louisville, Ky. - Katie Tewell has signed a national letter-of-intent to continue her golf career at the University of Louisville next season. Tewell, a senior at Center Grove High School in Indiana, was the state champion this season and state runner-up her sophomore season.
"We are very excited that Katie chose Louisville," said head coach Kelly Meyers. "She will be a strong player coming in for us as a freshman after losing three seniors. She is a great talent and a very committed player."
Tewell was named all-state her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons. She was named Indiana's Player of the Year last season. She earned all-county honors and was named the Johnson County Champion the last two seasons.
"I am confident and thrilled in my decision to attend the University of Louisville," said Tewell. "Coach Kelly Meyers did not give up on me earlier this year when my game was a little rocky. The team aided in my decision to attend Louisville. I am very excited to go to Louisville and begin an exciting four years of collegiate golf."
