LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville sophomore high jumper Kelley Bowman earned All-America honors over the summer at the 2002 USATF Junior National Championships in Palo Alto, Calif.
Bowman cleared five feet, seven and three-quarter inches (1.72 meters) in the event to place seventh overall. The top eight finishers earned All-America honors.
"This is a tremendous honor for Kelley," said U of L women's head coach Warren Bye. "She has worked extremely hard and has a bright future ahead of her."
The Mt. Vernon, Ky., native is the first U of L women's track and field athlete to earn All-America honors since Michelle Borgert earned the distinction in 1995.
As a freshman last year, Bowman set school records in the high jump in both the indoor (1.77m) and outdoor (1.75m) seasons.
