CHICAGO, IL - DePaul University blanked the University of Louisville 3-0 in women's soccer Friday afternoon.
The Blue Demons' Margo Sackmaster opened the scoring in the 31st minute when she headed in a cross from Amber Prindle for a 1-0 advantage that carried into intermission.
Sackmaster then upped the advantage to 2-0 on her second header of the match and fourth goal of the season at 51:35. Amy Witt and Julianne Sitch picked up assists on the goal.
The final margin was decided when Sitch tallied her seventh goal of the year at 62:02 on a pass from Krissy Seberhagen.
After being outshot in the first half 4-0, the Cards rebounded to outshoot the Demons(8-6-0, 3-4-0) 7-6 in the second stanza, but could not convert.
Sophomore Lisa Martin lead the Cards(5-8-1, 1-4-1) with two shots on goal.
The Cardinals face Marquette in Milwaukee on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. before returning home for a match against Saint Louis Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Cardinal Park. Admission to all home events at Cardinal Park is free to the public.
