LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Unversity of Louisville women's tennis team was back at full strength but it wasn't quite enough to translate to a win as visiting Tennessee Tech won 6-1.
"We won the doubles, which was marvelous and we had three singles matches that could have gone either way," said head coach, Meg Peavy.
The Cardinals welcomed Kelly Taylor, a freshman from Dorset, England to the squad. Taylor just received her certification to play this semester. She teamed with Paige Eber to win the No. 3 doubles 9-7, and then couldn't hang on at No. 6 singles where she went three sets before falling to Kaimelina Riveras in a tie-breaker. The Louisville No. 2 doubles pair of Kelly Kiehna and Mariana Torres also recorded a win of 8-4 over Riveras and Ana Obandos.
