
Men's Soccer Falls to No. 8 South Florida

The University of Louisville men's soccer team was back in action tonigh against No. 8 South Florida. It turned out to be a physical conference battle in which South Florida defeated the cardinals 1-0.
The first half saw some agrressive play from both teams with 22 fouls called. There were many opportunities, but niether team could convert a goal and the teams headed to the locker rooms scoreless.
The second half saw much of the same physical play, with 12 fouls called. The game remained scoreless until the 56th minute when South Florida's Kevin Cowan had a low cross deflected past Louisville keeper Jeremy Morales. Matt Cavenaugh slide the ball in for the eventual game-winning goal.
The Cardinals will travel to Western Kentucky to take on the Hilltoppers on Monday, Oct. 1 at 7:00 p.m.
