
Women's Soccer Edged By Ohio

ATHENS, OH. - The University of Louisville women's soccer team was edged 2-1 by Ohio University in Athens, Ohio on Monday. The game was originally to be played on Sunday, but was rescheduled due to the terrorist attacks on the nation.
Ohio midfielder Abby Leopold scored the deciding goal in the 87th minute, breaking a 1-1 tie and handing the Bobcats(2-3-0) the victory.
Megan Cummins opened the scoring, following a scoreless first half, with a tally two minutes into the second stanza for Ohio.
Louisville(1-3-0) junior Melissa Wark notched her second goal of the season in the 60th minute off an assist from Amber Jolley, tying the game at one.
Cardinal goalkeeper Meredith Miller was solid, making 10 saves in the loss. Freshmen Mandy Rost and Rachel Gold saw their first game action of the season following injuries.
Louisville will next open the Conference USA season on Friday when it hosts Tulane at Cardinal Park at 7:00 p.m.
