CardsCARE Volunteer Opportunities - YMCA Project N.O.W.
August 06, 2001 | General
YMCA Project N.O.W. is a training and development program to support young people in taking control of their lives. They may be at risk from a range of personal or social problems and they want change. Eighty percent of the students in this program are African American males. They are in need of student-athletes who can pair up with a student and serve as their mentor/tutor on a regular basis. They are willing to work with your schedule to make it convenient for you and are open daily from 9:00a.m.-9:00p.m. Anyone who chooses to serve as a mentor must fill out paperwork to undergo a criminal check.
If you are unable to make the time commitment of serving as a mentor, you may opt to give a motivational speech on any Wednesday or Thursday from 7:00-9:00p.m.
