CardsCARE Volunteer Opportunities - Girl Power
August 06, 2001 | General
Girl Power is a new sports program sponsored by the Family Resource Center for 4th and 5th grade girls. Over the year they cover a variety of different sports such as running, soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, softball, rowing and golf. There are approximately 25 girls who meet on Tuesday's at Kerrick Elementary from 4:00-5:30p.m., and Thursday's at Eisenhower Elementary from 4:00-5:30p.m.
As a University of Louisville female student-athlete, you can have a great impact on these children by speaking to them about the importance of sports. You also get the opportunity to teach them some of the basic fundamentals about your respective sport and have a great time participating with them in your sport.
