
Men's Soccer Falls in Exhibition

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's soccer team fell 2-1 to Alabama A&M in double overtime tonight at Cardinal Park. The Cardinals finish the exhibition season with a 3-2-1 record.
Alabama A&M scored in the fourth minute of play with an unassisted goal by Mujib Kasule. The Bulldogs held on to the 1-0 lead into halftime.
Newcomer Simon Bird was taken down from behind in the box in the second half. Bird made good on the penalty kick to knot the score at 1-1 early in the second half.
Both teams went scoreless in the first overtime period. At the 113 minute mark, the Bulldogs' Mathew Mendy scored off a cross from Aggrey Bigala to end the match.
The Cardinals will resume play on Aug. 31 at Evansville and then will open the home slate against Vanderbilt on Sunday, Sept. 2 at 7:00 p.m.
